Preparation Countdown

*Great tip! Month or two before November you can start purchasing items off your grocery list to be prepared and to eliminate buying so much all at once. Ask family members and guests to help with the dinner. If you are doing it all then here is the way to do it! It can be done and it will be delicious! Go for it!!


Friday or before
o     Buy your turkey and groceries from your list.

Saturday
o     Clean the house and do laundry so you won’t have to worry about it next week.
o     Put your turkey in the fridge to defrost

Sunday
o     Go to church, count your blessings, and rest up!

Monday
o     Set aside table cloths, table decorations

Tuesday
o     Marinate the turkey
o     Make baked pie shells for cream pies
o     Put anything that needs to be cold when served in the fridge including canned fruit for fruit salad and drinks

Wednesday
o     Bake pies
o     Make yams
o     Make cranberry sauce if making fresh and put in serving dish
o     Make fruit salad
o     Sweep and mop kitchen when you are done with baking
o     Set the tables up
