Bran Muffins


2 c 100% Bran
2 c boiling water
2 ½ c sugar
2 c + 3T shortening
4 eggs
1 qt. Buttermilk
4 c Bran Buds
5 t salt
5 t soda
6 c flour

Pour boiling water over 100% Bran.   Stir til mixed and then let stand.  Cream shortening, sugar, eggs til fluffy.  Add Buttermilk.  Beat for a short time.  Add Bran water mixture.  Stir.  Pour into large container.  Add Bran Buds and dry ingredients.  Stir until mixed well.  Pour into 4 1qt. Jars

Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.  Keeps up to 6 weeks.
